Project Brief
DRET needed a School Production Video that showcased the Music Competition and all the schools were taking part in. There will also need to be a number of interviews from key members of staff as well as those taking part in the competition.

Challenges
The music competition had a number of performers throughout the day so we needed to be able to film as much as possible in two separate locations as well as be able to grab a good selection of interviews during the day. We would have to come up with a plan to ensure we had everything covered and didn’t need to go around trying to rush shots.
Initial Concept Planning
In order to produce this video we had to spend a lot of time planning how we would shoot everything. We worked alongside the school to ensure all the timings were correct and from there we could have a better idea of when we could film everything.
Filming
We used a three camera set up on the day we were able to have two cameras covering every single performer on the day as well as a roving camera, which allowed us to film a variety of interviews as well as take some more creative shots of the performers.
Editing & Final Delivery
The editing process wasn’t easy either as we had a lot of great footage that had to be squeezed in to a short video. The main starting point was to find some really good upbeat music and once that was in place it helped to slot everything else in place. We sent revisions over to the school and worked on the feedback until we were all happy with the final video.
