Project Brief
Ferry Lane really wanted to create a new School Logo and had been using various staff members to try and create a logo but time is difficult to come by, especially if you are a teacher having to do a million other things so we were asked to help create that as well. The branding had to still keep in mind the old style of logo, but essentially give it a fresh new update. The logo then had to be incorporated in a new stationary set, such as Business Cards, Letterhead and Comp Slips.

Skills Needed
We had to use a variety of skills to produce this element of work. Firstly and most important twas to actually listen to what the client wanted. Ferry Lane had a very defined idea of what they wanted so it was our job to bring that vision to life. The main element was to find the right type of boat as there were so many we could have gone for and then it was about choosing the right colours and how the boat would sit in the design. We used a variety of hand drawn skills, illustrator and Photoshop to create the logo and stationary.
Initial Concept Planning
We were lucky with Ferry Lane that they had a good idea of what they wanted but we worked on some variations to help see if we could add anything to their vision.
Drafts & Revisions
We came up with a variety of drafts to help get everyone on board and looked at how it all sat with the new website that we were also designing and building.
Final Delivery
We provided everything as print ready files and even included printing prices for all the stationary. The logo was also provided in a number of sizes for the website as well as other marketing material such as Newsletters and signs around the school.
Final Results
The final result is now being used by the school and has been printed on a variety of banner etc to get people used to the new look. It also ties in perfectly with the new website, which has gone live as well and together they both compliment each other really well. The Headteacher, staff and governors were all really pleased with the final result and apart from helping to deliver a great new fresh look to the school, it also meant the teachers could get on with teaching rather than have to also think about how to design a new logo!
