Project Brief – St Johns Walworth Photography
Based in Elephant and Castle, South London, St John’s Walworth Primary School were in desperate need for a new website, which would not only showcase the school but also give it a much-needed boost to help lift the school ethos. They were looking to connect with parents more and encourage others from the surrounding area to join the school. Recruitment levels had to rise as they were under threat from other local schools. As with all the schools we work with we knew we had to be careful of their budget so any ideas that we came up with had to be viable. To help bring the new website to life they also needed some school photography to ensure the fun and excitement could be shown in the right way.

The Final School Images
Challenges
We thought long and hard about what would work and what wouldn’t. We decided to spend a day with the school to get a better feel about the atmosphere and the type of people that worked there and the type of pupils they had. This was really helpful as we could see how the school works. The images had to be bright and fun yet also show that there is some serious work taking place here. This is a school that wants it’s children to achieve so it was important to get the right balance.
Initial Concept Planning
We always start our photos sessions by discussing what is needed and the style of the shoot.
Drafts & Revisions
As soon as we have all the photos back in the studio then it is time to edit them. We use a variety of software to ensure the photos look the best that they can be. Editing time normally takes a few days and then you get to decide if there are any in particular you would like us to focus on a bit more.
Final Delivery
We always make sure you are happy with the images before we sign off on the project. The images are exported as High Res images and sent via a zipped file. You then have complete ownership of all the images.
Final Results
We are really pleased with the final images for St. John’s Walworth primary school. The school is excited too about how they sit on the website. We got some really great images of the pupils and the teachers. We think together with the website it has all worked out perfectly and really showcases another side of the school!
Feedback
Feedback has been really positive and there have been a few tears shed when people have watched the video, which is always a good sign in our books. The video has worked really well on social media, with viewing figures via Facebook and Twitter rising by 170%. The Tv Advert is below so have a look and I hope you enjoy what you see.
